Nature based solutions for adaption and mitigation of climate change

In the wake of the unsuccessful COP25, partners and experts from Agroforestry Network published an opinion piece in the environmental magazine Aktuell Hållbarhet. In the opinion piece experts from a number of development institutions argue that agroforestry is a promising nature based solution that can fight climate change while also reducing poverty and inequalities.

The opinion piece is based on the report Achieving the global goals through agroforestry, published by Agroforestry Network. The report shows that agroforestry can contribute to reaching at least nine of the 17 SDGs. And agroforestry is getting more attention. This was demonstrated during COP25 by a number of seminars and side events presenting evidence for agroforestry as a sustainable land management system.
