Solidarity with Ukraine

Agroforestry Network and its partner organizations stand in solidarity with Ukraine. We would like to urge for peace not only for the sake of the Ukrainian people that are currently suffering, but also for the sake of potential impacts that Russia’s war on Ukraine may have on people in vulnerable situations worldwide. Ukraine is a major food producer to the EU and global markets. The ongoing war will heavily impact the 2022 production season, resulting in increased food prices and threats to food security in Ukraine as well as in Europe and beyond. The combined effect of the ongoing war, climate change, and the social and economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic will escalate global food insecurity, and fuel a global food crisis.
